THE CENTER: Mid-Columbia Center for Living (MCCFL) is a recovery-oriented, trauma-informed service provider for persons with serious mental illness, addictions, and Intellectual/Developmental disabilities. MCCFL seeks to become consumer-involved, consumer-engaged, and consumer-driven. MCCFL furthermore seeks to increase its trauma-sensitive services through participation in the community-wide adaption of The Sanctuary Model over the tri-county (Hood River, Wasco, and Sherman) area. The employee must embody principles of recovery, consumer-involvement and trauma-informed care as demonstrated in prior work experience, daily attitude, and professional behaviors.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES: This position is responsible for managing the computers in the agency including purchasing, installation and providing desktop support to staff.

Starting salaries are assigned considering the applicant’s qualifications and experience measured against internal factors; the successful applicant is typically appointed at the beginning steps of the salary range.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS: Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the position’s essential responsibilities is qualifying. This might typically include:
• Associate degree in a computer related field with three years’ relevant experience in PC operation and maintenance, and network administration and maintenance; OR
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field and two years of experience.
• Working knowledge and expertise with a variety of software, hardware, and applications.
• Willingness to solve complicated problems and see projects through to completion.
• Analytical skills to study problems and records and identify solutions.
• Team-orientated attitude to help other colleagues and departments with technical problems.
• Strong interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to manage time and effectively prioritize numerous projects at one time.
• Must pass all criminal history check requirements as required by ORS 181.536-181.537 and in accordance with OAR 407-007-0200 to 407-007-0370.

IT SUPPORT SPECIALIST ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Manages the agency’s computers including purchasing, installing, and maintaining computer hardware and software. Troubleshoots user problems and provides general support to users. Specific functions include:
• Purchase servers, desktop equipment, laptops, and software in consultation with Information Systems Administrator.
• Microsoft / Novell Server administration.
• Maintain software and hardware inventory databases.
• Desktop support for our staff (Software including Anasazi, hardware, and networks)
• Setup, deploy, and maintain McAfee EPO Server and clients - 120+ nodes.
• Set up staff workstations and other technology used by staff.

Assists Information Systems Administrator as necessary with the following:
• Assist in Implementation of SonicWall routers and VPN appliances.
• Support video conferencing between remote sites.
• Policy-based user and workstation administration.
• Support for remote access to our network using remote VPN's and Citrix
• Deploy & Setup windows Servers, Citrix Servers, Novell OES / Linux Servers
• Setup remote offices to allow VPN connections back to central office, including Home Office's

Assists Database Administrator with database management, data collection, data extraction, system planning, technical assistance/training to MCCFL staff including formalized and ad hoc training for staff on MCCFL’s current network and computer systems.

Performs other assignments and projects as assigned and other duties as assigned to meet agency program/statistical needs.

Leadership Received: This position works under the supervisory leadership of the IT Supervisor.

Physical Demands: While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers; and handle or feel; talk; hear; stand; walk; sit; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop; kneel, crouch or crawl; and climb or balance.

The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, distance vision, depth of perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment: Work is performed in an office environment and the noise level is usually moderate, but occasionally may be exposed to loud noise such as raised voice levels and alarms. This position is exposed to the everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as an office (i.e., moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, and electrical shock).

The employee should possess a valid driver’s license for vehicle travel between MCCFL worksites and to meetings and/or trainings outside the office. Regular travel between sites is an essential function of the position; the incumbent must have a valid driver’s license or otherwise possess access to another mode of reliable and timely transportation.
