We’re looking for a talented Backend Engineer / Application Architect who would like to work in a digital asset/fintech startup to help build out robust features, microservices, and support systems. In this position, you will be able to design and build unique systems supporting product roadmap items of large feature implementations, support existing systems, and help drive resolution of hotfixes. This will include anything from help with input requirements for new features, developing various approaches to implement features, and determining best-fit for ease of implementation and ability to scale. You should be able to work under little direction and bring ideas to the table to help bring the features to life.

Able to work remotely and coordinate with remote teams effectively
Self starter
Team builder and individual contributor
Have in-depth knowledge of distributed transactions; implementation experience of Saga Patterns in Python / Django / Celery

What you’ll do:
- Design and implement features, as it relates to application design, data modeling, circuit breakers, distributed tracing, and development for ease of scalability
- Support backend feature development, refactoring, optimizations, and hotfixes
- Participate in the entire application lifecycle, focusing on coding and debugging
- Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate user-facing elements with server side logic
- Follow 12-factor app guidelines
- Work with cloud-native technologies
- Understand current released product and how to roll in new features with little to no friction
- Review existing features and systems for improvements on design quality and scalability
- Build reusable code and libraries for future use
