Our client, a growing Cambridge biotechnology firm is seeking to hire a Buyer/ Procurement Associate to join their team. Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the Buyer will be tasked with managing the Procurement Operations function within the firm, serving as a key customer service resource across the business. The right candidate should be highly motivated and have strong communication and interpersonal skills with a shared commitment to helping people focus more time on science and less on purchasing, ordering and working with vendors.

â€¢ Review and approve purchase requisitions ensuring that they meet the organizations compliance requirements which include proper documentation, price and payment terms
â€¢ Provide procurement support, oversight and guidance for critical material or services requiring expediting, prioritization or review
â€¢ Confirm that modifications and changes to existing orders are properly documented and processed on time.
â€¢ Develop and promote strong working relationships with all internal stakeholders and external suppliers
â€¢ Assist with obtaining and analyzing proposals or quotations for consumables, equipment, and services
â€¢ Partner with internal customers when needed to expedite purchase requisitions or identify solutions for supply chain disruptions which may include the sourcing of alternative providers
â€¢ Properly escalate any known service disruptions, order discrepancies or contract matters for internal review and remediation
â€¢ Monitor and resolve delivery issues insuring on-time delivery
â€¢ Collaborate with Accounts Payable on resolving invoice discrepancies.
â€¢ In collaboration with internal stakeholders, resolving supplier quality and/or services issues as appropriate.
â€¢ Support tactical project activities and coordinating with business partners both internally and externally.
â€¢ Participation in meetings and communications with suppliers and internal teams as required.
