MADEVAL HOUSTON is growing and is seeking to hire a Technical Designer that is passionate about the Kitchen and Bath Industry. The Technical Designer position works closely with the Sale Designers and Production team. Create high quality and accurate drawings, elevations, plans details. Request quotes write purchase orders and put appliance and stone pricing for the project. Validate that a design is feasible with production team. Assist customers in showroom and on the phone. Create all documentation related to a project: Job Books, install packs and re-measure packs. Update literature and keep showroom presentable. Become an expert on our cabinets and appliance lines.

Design related tasks
• Assist Designer with Presentation drawings following client brief and discussions. Design and print plans, elevations, and beautiful perspective drawings to be presented to the client.
• Keep track of and carry out amendments to existing drawings for subsequent presentations for clients
• Communicate with the designers on drawings that are to be produced and the date they are needed, prioritizing your workload.
• Research and specify appliances for designs and provide the necessary information and documents for specific jobs with designers
• Produce Shop drawings and send out requests for quotes to different stone manufacturers
• Assist designer in preparing quotes for clients.
• Understand and help designers with quotes and how to price kitchen accessories, special custom cabinets, or system not currently on the system.
• Communicate amendments to clients.
• Assist designers preparing orders for kitchen, appliances, and stones, produce drawings for contracts for clients.
• Prepare drawings for production of cabinetry
• Assist Designer with Site Measurements
• Assist Project Manager with Shop drawings for builders with information about electrical, water and gas connections etc
• File paperwork in correct client files and write down delivery dates and addresses of everything for installations i.e. memos, order placement, handles, special orders.
• Assist in any other showroom tasks and activities that may be required in the interest of the business, i.e. produce customer information packs, installation manuals, dealing with customer service, update supplier database, etc

• Open the showroom 09:00 every morning
• Close the showroom 5:30 every evening
• General showroom maintenance including coffee machine, working kitchen, etc.
• Check showroom is in top condition including catalogues fully stocked, appliance catalogues in order, stone samples available and order new where necessary.
• Keep a log of on-going jobs and presentations
3. Qualifications needed
• Attention to detail
• Thorough and accuracy
• AutoCAD proficient required
• Experience from the kitchen industry (1 year Minimum or case by case)
• Transportation to Job Sites
• Knowledge of Excel, Power Point, Word
• BFA in Interior Design or Related Field
• Fluent in Spanish and English
