Job Description
Conduct interior and exterior patrols within an office, industrial complex or at construction sites.
Perform patrols around the perimeter.
Check all personnel entering facilities.
Log in all visitors, vehicles and vendors.
Issue visitor badges as required.
Maintain security, visitor logs and other records.
Administer access control over vehicles entering garages or other parking structures
Operate a hand-held radio, cell phone or other communication devices as needed.

Communicate effectively in the English language, both verbally, in writing, and over various communications systems
Have reliable transportation
Physically capable of performing the assigned work

Must be able to operate a hand-held radio, cell phone or other communication devices as needed
Free from any criminal convictions.

Education & Experience:
High School Diploma or GED

Licensing, Permits & Certifications:
Valid California Driver’s License
California Security Guard Registration Card
Specific Requirements
Expected Responsibilities:
• Provide Entry & Egress Access Control
• Perform Roving Patrols of Building Interior & Exterior
• Verify Employees and Visitors
• Draft Incident & Daily Operating Reports
• Perform Surveillance & Response to System Detection of Building Intrusion (As Appropriate)
• Monitor Alarms, CCTV, Radio Channels, and Fire Detection Equipment
• Perform Emergency or Life Safety Duties (e.g. CPR, AED)
• Follow Proper Emergency Notification Procedures (As Necessary)
• Be Proactive Against Suspicious Activities
• Customer Service/Care – Greet, Assist & Direct or Escort Staff and Visitors
• Comply with Uniform & Appearance Standards
• Perform Inventory Control - Proper Logging, Use, and Return of Equipment
• Attend to all Meetings or Training Sessions (As Requested)
• Guard Assigned Post for Full Shift
• Maintain All Certifications and Training Standards
• Maintain Readiness for Inspections (Scheduled and Unscheduled)
• Follow Lost & Found Protocols
• Recognize & Respond to Hazardous Materials/Conditions
• Perform Emergency Evacuations (e.g. Bomb Threat, Active Shooter)
• Possess a Full Understanding & Performance of Post Orders
• Any Additional Duties as Assigned in Post Orders

• Speak, read, and write English
• Pass a Criminal Records Check, Employment Check, and Motor Vehicles Driving Records Check as well has have three personal references
• Pass a Physical Exam
• Pass a Drug Test
• Frequent and prolonged walking, standing, sitting, and stooping and occasional running
• Able to lift 50 pounds
• Willing to become CPR / AED / First Aid certified and potentially deliver life-saving aid
• Able to perform all duties without regard to any physical limitations that would preclude full performance of duty
