We are seeking a candidate with a reputation as a creative and ambitious professional with the ability to cultivate vendor relationships. They will be able to aggressively negotiate pricing and delivery options, and ensure that all goods are procured at maximized cost savings. Candidate will have expertise in managing all procurement and logistics challenges; from identifying international suppliers, to securing appropriate customs documentation to secure deliveries. Candidate will also have extensive utilization of Excel spreadsheets to gather, identify, & analyze data. Candidate will perform cost benefit analysis to ensure maximized inventory for minimized costs. In addition, candidate will be an effective problem solver with technical discipline, business acumen, have a high proficiency with numbers, and talent for practical implementation. Candidate will also have talent for fostering and leveraging collaborative relationships with internal and external resources to facilitate solutions.

Responsibilities:

-Coordinate the company's daily logistical operations, including inventory control, order fulfillment, and
distribution
-Schedule and track containers in transit to ensure on-time delivery
-Manage the import of containers from various ports to local distribution centers
-Negotiate shipping rates with current carriers to maintain the most cost effective shipping,
while maintaining a high level of customer service
-Work with ocean and domestic carriers to minimize delay and improve transit times
-Perform purchase reorders
-Track and analyze logistics costs and identify ways to mitigate extra costs
-Effectively communicate and build relationships with carriers, suppliers, and internal teams
-Work with accounts payable to validate charges related to logistics
-Oversee and coordinate a multitude of import and domestic supply chain management functions
-Establish vendor relationships and ensure optimal levels of inventory are maintained, while
increasing inventory turns and satisfying customer demand via in-stock merchandise
-Review and analyze daily and weekly operational reports and monitor operational
performance to ensure products are in stock, vendor commitments are maintained,
and purchase orders are cut in a timely and adequate fashion
-Maintain acceptable ROIs
-Design and perform data analyses as needed to address and resolve operational
concerns
-Manage reorder purchasing

Requirements:

-Business, accounting, or finance degree required
-Experience in purchasing, preferably in the furniture sector
-Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
-3-5 years of supply chain and purchasing experience
-Strong analytical skills, decision-making ability, & demonstrated business acumen
-Flexible approach to negotiating
-Willingness to work to time-sensitive deadlines is essential
-Strong communication skills
-Professional & Positive demeanor
