We are currently seeking a Construction Accountant. This role is your opportunity to build your leadership skills, enhance your technological skill set and find new or more creative and resourceful ways to solve problems.
As our Construction Accountant, you will get the chance to take ownership of and apply principles of accounting to record and analyze financial information, including managing job cost attributes, responding to clients issues, resolving problems, and providing/reviewing financial statement disclosures related to our companyâ€™s construction activities.
General Accounting Responsibilities:
â€¢ Responsible for the accounting operations of the company.
â€¢ Communicate routinely with upper management on a variety of job-related topics including bonding,
insurance and contract agreements.
â€¢ Participate in the formation and implementation of company financial plans.
â€¢ Preparation of all monthly financial reports.
â€¢ Provide reporting and budgeting as required.
â€¢ Manage company and project cash flow.
â€¢ Supervise accounts payable and accounts receivable staff and functions.
â€¢ Work with project management staff ensuring proper compliance with accounting procedures including
reviewing and analyzing job cost estimates and reports monthly.
â€¢ Develop written accounting procedures for the operations staff and work with team to ensure proper
implementation and compliance.
â€¢ Creating new accounting/operations procedures to prepare and manage rapidly growing entity and the
Desired Skills and Experience:
1. Must be a strong and organized leader with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent verbal
and written communication skills are also required.
2. Bachelorâ€™s Degree or equal in accounting.
3. 5-10 years of construction or related accounting experience including AIA billings, OCIP/CIP and Certified
4. Experience in job cost accounting and financial reporting.
5. Understanding of commercial construction policies & agencies such as the MTA, SCA, DDC, DASNY etc.
