What You'll Do
Full Tilt Studio is looking for an enthusiastic, detail-oriented, proactive, and creative Photo Editor to contribute to a fast-paced â€œstartupâ€ photo department. This position will work closely with the Director of Photography and Account Manager/Producer. This is a part-time position and can be flexible with work hours. The right person will have opportunity for growth within editing and photography and could turn into a fulltime employee.
â€¢ Work with lead Photographer and Director to deliver excellent deliverables to clients.
â€¢ Edit photos as assigned from Photography team for print and digital needs
â€¢ Maintaining shoot timelines and communicating with all
â€¢ Assist photo shoots on set, handling image selection and coordinating post production needs
â€¢ Work with Photography team to set up studio/lighting/etc,
â€¢ Work with and take direction from stylist in a collaborative environment
â€¢ Job duties may change as per business needs
What You Have
â€¢ Photoshop â€” Must be proficient in the follow tools/processes:
o Retouching with healing brush, spot heal, patch tool, clone stamp, color replacement, content aware fill, and knowing in which scenarios a particular tool is best utilized.
o Clipping Paths: Be able to create clipping path using the pen tool in conjunction with automated selection tools such as the quick selection tool, magic wand, magnetic lasso. We use these tools frequently in creation of clipping paths that must be saved with files. Simply using the pen tool will not give the required results.
o Use of layer masks: Similar to clopping paths, we use multiple tools to make selections in creation of layer masks. Automated tools such as the quick selection tool, magic wand, as well as manual tools like lasso tools, marquee tools, quick mask, etc. Being able to create selections with channels can also be useful, but not required.
o Compositing: We are often using multiple exposures or exported versions to achieve a desired look. Sometimes we are â€œfocus stackingâ€ images. Other times, we are creating composites to achieve certain tones or colors in parts of an image. Editors must have the ability to recognize when details of an image need to be adjusted.
o Lightroom â€” We edit all our raw files in Lightroom and save sidecar XMP files that stay with the original RAW files.
We make as many adjustments in Lightroom to the RAW file before export in order to achieve the highest quality possible while trying to do minimal exposure and color adjustments in Photoshop. However, it is necessary to understand Curves, Levels, Photo Filters, Hue/Saturation, Color Balance and using those as Adjustment Layers.
o Bridge â€” We used Bridge for file management and renaming. It can be helpful to understand how to edit Metadata using Bridge or other programs like Photo Mechanic.

â€¢ Dragonframe, for shooting stop-motion video.
â€¢ Premiere Pro, for editing stop-motion videos.
â€¢ Photo Mechanic for mass file sorting/culling/renaming.
â€¢ After Effects for adding text and graphics to video and for rotoscoping effects.
