Ride The Wave Recovery: Professional Clinical Counselor PC is seeking a licensed therapist to treat eating disorders, addictions, codependency, and trauma for clients of all genders and sexualities in its Rockridge office. We are additionally open to employing a clinician who specializes primarily in gender affirming care, with or without expertise in the aforementioned areas.

The ideal candidate is bilingual in Spanish and English, though this is not a requirement. Additionally, the ideal candidate has significant understanding of and clinical eye for oppressive systemic forces in individual mental health and seeks to be culturally humble in relation to clients who occupy diverse positionalities. We are particularly interested in being more accessible to QTPOC clients. We currently are highly accessible to white queer and trans clients.
We have office space available all day in a lovely Rockridge location on Fridays starting January 1, 2020.
Our group supervision and consultation, led by the Executive Director, meets on Tuesdays from 1-3pm, and the ideal candidate would be able to attend this at minimum one time per month. The licensed clinician would also have 1 hour of weekly consultation from the Executive Director for the first month of employment and bi-weekly thereafter for 2 months and once monthly after that to insure quality of care for clients, support for the clinician, and compliance with RtW clinical and documentation procedures. If the licensed person is interested in attending group supervision and consultation weekly, that is strongly supported and encouraged, though would not be required. The Executive Director is committed to maintaining a connected and healthy staff group and therefore supports and encourages all staff to be involved in group supervision and consultation.
We have a centralized Intake and Assessment process, via our Intake Coordinator, so the "front-end" administrative work does not fall on the clinicians. We also provide each licensed therapist with 3 months of a Psychology Today profile (at which point, we hand the account off to the therapist) and significant marketing efforts such as local email blasts, quarterly newsletters to professionals locally and nationwide, and introduction of staff to known networks locally via word of mouth and flyers. That said, each clinician is asked to participate in their own self-promotion, networking, and marketing to help gain clientele for themselves.
The licensed clinician would be a W2 and as such would be eligible for a continuing education stipend yearly ($250), accruing paid sick leave per California law, and significant training opportunities at RtW.
Please check out our website, particularly our "About" section, to see if RtW might be a good fit for you and your clinical interests! http://www.ridethewaverecovery.com
If reaching out, please include a cover letter stating minimally why you are specifically interested in working at RtW, what intersectional positionalities you occupy (and care to share), when you received your clinical license in the State of California, and information about your most recent employment, as well as your preferred theoretical orientations for treating clients.
