This Protocol Doctor role is a remote part-time opportunity. Best suited for candidates amenable to ancillary / supplemental employment opportunities. Ideal Candidates for this opportunity are Physicians / Doctors ( MD / DO ) with an existing practice / existing primary employment and a strong clinical background. Qualified Candidates must have an Active license to practice medicine in the State of Florida and an Active DEA Registration.
The Protocol Doctor will operate as the Collaborating Physician (CP) from whom the Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) can seek clinical support and consultation.
This role is anticipated to be low demand with little time commitment required on the part of the Doctor / Physician.
Responsibilities of the Collaborating Physician include:
â€¢ Enter into Written Collaborative Practice Agreements and Collaborate Physician Relationship with Nurse Practitioner (NP)
â€¢ Provide supervision and collaborative oversight of ARNP consistent with the Collaborative Practice Agreements and any applicable Protocols, and in accordance with Florida state and federal law
â€¢ Complete periodic chart reviews of a representative sample of ARNPs records to evaluate and verify services provided by the ARNP were congruent with applicable Protocol. Thereafter maintain records of such review results for any possible future requested regulatory agency review. All charts will be loaded into an electronic review system for easy access at the physicianâ€™s leisure on their personal PC or laptop
â€¢ Accommodate occasional consultations on clinical questions during regular business hours. Consultations will be facilitated remotely via electronically communication (i.e. phone calls, emails, text messages, video conference, etc)
Qualifications of the Collaborative Physician include:
â€¢ Active/Eligible Board â€“ Medical Certification
â€¢ Active state license to practice medicine in the State of Florida
â€¢ Active DEA Registration in the State of Florida
â€¢ Eligible State & Federal program participation status
Compensation level will be determined based on level of involvement and contributions to the clinic. Management would be open to discussing either flat fee or percentage of net scenarios.
Clinic Services Scope and Protocols:
The initial scope of the clinic protocols will be to diagnose and treat common illnesses such as strep throat, respiratory, sinus and ear infections and the flu, as well as for minor skin conditions and minor injuries, prescribe medications as needed, conduct tests and interpret laboratory results, provide wellness and preventative care, perform physical examinations and health screenings, and administer vaccinations and injections.
Additionally, there will be specific protocols for the treatment of obesity that conform with the outlined practice guidelines for treating obesity with the safe use of phentermine, phendimetrazine, and other drugs used to treat obesity in accordance with both Florida State laws and rules.
