Equivity is looking for a part-time virtual paralegal based on the East Coast with recent experience supporting attorneys on social security and disability benefits. We are looking for paralegals with at least four years of experience working on SSDI cases, and additional experience in litigation, probate law, estate planning, and/or transactional law would be a plus. If you have experience supporting a practice focusing on social security and disability law, and have previously assisted attorneys remotely, we want to hear from you!

Virtual paralegals at Equivity develop a portfolio of clients supporting a number of different attorneys. Your experience for this particular paralegal role should include assisting with the preparation of supporting documents for filing, interacting with clients, calendaring, requesting medical records, preparing pleadings from templates, and researching case law. You must have strong writing skills, excellent communication skills, and a firm grasp of SSDI law and changing federal regulations. Experience assisting clients with completing applications for government benefits is also required.
The ideal candidate will have deep familiarity with Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel, and editing PDFs, as well as proficiency with cloud-based practice management software and e-filing.
More about our company:
Equivity matches clients with virtual assistants that provide paralegal, administrative and marketing support. Our virtual paralegals work with a high degree of autonomy and are responsible for developing relationships with our clients. Because we provide extremely attentive service to our clients, you must be available to respond to client communications during the business within one hour by email, phone, and text and be available to work on projects throughout the business day. The majority of this work will be done remotely, which means you can work from home (with the exception of any potential onsite work done as mentioned above for this particular client).
The selected candidate would be hired as a part-time employee of Equivity, not an independent contractor. We anticipate that this particular role will require availability of at least 20 hours per week. The starting pay for the virtual paralegal role is $18.50 per hour. We are a growing business and are looking for a virtual paralegal who is excited to partner with us and is interested in a long-term role with our company.
