Busy solo practice seeking a part-time independent contractor attorney to handle personal injury and general practice matters. The candidate must, at a minimum, have a J.D./L.L.M. from an accredited law school, and have an active license to practice law in Pennsylvania.

The candidate must have basic knowledge and skill to handle personal injury cases and general litigation matters in the courts of common pleas. The owner of the firm will provide guidance and oversee the handling of each case, but the successful candidate will be expected to enter their appearance on the matter, meet with clients, draft complaints, handle discovery/depositions and try cases.

Compensation in this position is based directly on fees collected from clients whether it is a contingent fee case or a billable hour. There is no base salary and there are no benefits offered. There is also no guaranteed amount of work. Although there are no benefits, the candidate will not be required to pay any overhead. In addition, the firm will provide 1. malpractice insurance, 2. one large private office, 3. secretarial services, 4. online legal research.

The ideal candidate is someone who cannot commit to a full time firm position and requires complete flexibility in their work schedule. Telecommuting up to three days per week is acceptable.

The successful candidate can make their own schedule and work hours. The successful candidate has the complete decision making authority to either take or reject any particular case. The candidate will also be paid a higher wage on work that he/she originates.
