An independent media company in Northern California is seeking a film producer to oversee the completion of a multi-year documentary project on the experiences of young combat veterans in the War on Terror. The ideal candidate will be a professional with a passion for the humanities, high-quality journalism, community engagement, and storytelling that promotes civil conversations about controversial topics.

The primary duties of the producer will include fundraising coordination, event planning, project management, public relations and business development. Although experience in print, radio, film or television journalism is preferred, enthusiastic candidates with a background in non-profit management, arts administration and business will be considered.
Desired qualifications include the following:
-A bachelorâ€™s degree or higher in journalism, non-profit management, arts administration, communications or business.
-Excellent writing and verbal communications skills, including experience with public speaking and the writing of news articles or press releases.
-Experience with using social media and online fundraising tools for independent media or community service projects.
-Experience with grant writing and fundraising.
-Work experience in an office environment, and a proactive, detail-oriented approach to planning and project completion.
