Opening is to support major distribution projects for Duke Energy across the Carolinas for an engineering firm in the Upstate.
a person who is a linemen or ex-linemen the want to hire them as designers since they have the knowledge of distributions systems.
Duke is currently upgrading their distribution infrastructure in the Carolinas and the client has the contract to provide the engineering.
This work consists of retrofitting transformers, replacing deteriorating cable, moving overhead lines to underground, reconductoring of existing distribution lines, and replacing aging poles.
They will complete site visits inclusive of field notes, visual inspection, equipment inventory, measurements and field conditions utilizing electronic tools such as an iPad.
They will then take these field notes back to the office and design them in microstation per Duke Energy's standards.
Designs will be in 2D.
While in the field they will evaluate loading of various equipment components being installed such as transformation, poles or fusing to ensure a cost-effective, safe and reliable design utilizing client specifications.
Pay is $25-32 hr dependent on experience, must be willing to submit to background and drug test.
