I have several positions open, as I am expanding my office. I can use help with legal writing, law and motion, all aspects of family law, completing bankruptcy initial filings, preparing complaints, all of which is the tip of the iceberg. I need someone who can do the legal research to prepare legal documents from scratch because no law office has a template for everything, and legal issues vary from case to case.

Advanced experience with MS Word and Excel are helpful. I don’t care how fast someone types, as typing 80 wpm doesn’t mean you can do finish word-processing work. I need someone who is skillful enough in word-processing that the document is file-ready without needing someone to clean up any formatting problems.

Obviously, all the skills and qualities that are prototype and a defining characteristic of a paralegal are necessary, such as being meticulous, detail-orientated, organized, and professional. Work shouldn’t be turned in until it is actually finished, proofread, and free of spelling and grammar errors.

I could especially use help from someone who can prepare a family law default judgment package to be approved and signed by the court the first time without the doc package being rejected and returned.

This office has a substantial caseload in many different types law, such as family, construction, employment, business and corporate litigation, real estate, bankruptcy, immigration, personal injury, probate, and other areas. We also provide legal services to self-represented parties nationwide, so familiarity with out-of-state law practice is a plus. The states include Nevada, Colorado, Indiana, Illinois, South Carolina, and Florida.

The ideal candidate will have experience drafting pleadings, propounding and responding to discovery, drafting motions, prepare subpoenas, depo notices, e-filing, legal research, and trial preparation. Knowledge of state and federal court rules is helpful. A paralegal certificate, 2-year degree in paralegal studies from an ABA rated school, or equivalent experience is required. JD's are welcome to apply.

I am looking for office space at the moment, so right now this position is limited to telecommuting.

Please submit your résumé, salary expectations, and at least two writing samples.

Compensation: DOE
Full or Part-time; telecommuting okay.
