I am looking to hire a part time project manager for software development projects. This is a telecommuting job so you can work from home. You will need to be in a time zone close to Pacific (Los Angeles, USA) or always available during those waking hours.

Roles:

You will manage web/software development projects. This will be for about a dozen websites and some mobile applications. The scope of the tasks will be as small as managing a bug fix using a single developer to a yearlong web development project with multiple developers and testers. You will also be managing schedules and customer requirements.

Skills:

-- Be able to think like the end user. How would they use this product or website? To be able to test the site like they would. To think of additional useful features that might be helpful to the end user. To be able to prototype ideas and concepts for websites on paper and computer.

-- You need excellent communications skills, both written and verbal

-- You should have skills to wireframe mockups of web designs/pages with tools such as Balsamiq Mockups.

-- Be able to thoroughly test web sites to make sure they are functioning correctly.

-- Be able to specify and document what testers will need to verify.

-- Be able to write test plans to verify a website is functioning

-- Be able to write thorough requirements documents for developers and testers to follow. This would be a living document that continuously is updated based on clarifications, changes in the design and increases in the scope of the project.

-- I need someone that can discuss an overall project, understand what the requirements are, ask probing questions to find out the details of what is needed and then be able to document this in written form including flowcharts and diagrams where necessary.

-- Be attentive to details. Notice small things. If there is a PSD photoshop design file, you would need to be able to compare that to the realized web site and find inconsistencies. Noticing small details that are incorrect that the average person may miss is very important.

-- Be familiar and able to use project management tools like Redmine, Monday.com etc.

-- I will need to be able to talk with you over Video/Phone Call so you will need to be able to speak English fluently.

-- You will need to be able to provide status on projects including the progress, any issues and what is being done to solve those issues.

-- Understand basic HTML programming like HTML, CSS, and javascript is a plus but not required.

-- Proficient with the use of different web browsers on both PC and Mac and mobile devices

-- I am looking for someone who is friendly and who likes talking with people.

-- I need someone who would be available for a few hours each day. I can't have someone who only works once or twice a week for a long day. There is a lot of back and forth between client/developer/manager and so responding and updating daily will be critical.

-- If all of this is something you love to do and are good at it, I would like to hear from you. Please include the following in your reply:

1) A brief summary of why you are qualified for the position
2) Any issues you have with the above roles/skills
3) When you are available to start
4) Confirmation you are in a time zone close to Pacific (Los Angeles, USA)
5) Your hourly rate

Thanks!
