Portland Web Design strives create a better website experience on behalf of our clients. We consist of a nimble team of trusted web experts that provide web design, development and implementation services to clients directly, and to other agencies through a white label program. Portland Web Design is fully decentralized and this position will require you to work remotely; strong organizational skills and the discipline to work from home is a must. Due to continued growth, Portland Web Design is looking for a Website UX Design Specialist who wants to deliver beautifully designed experiences in a fast-paced, user-centric environment. Our clients trust us to link their organization with their customers, and your role will be key in ensuring that is done in a way that is visually appealing while simultaneously thinking of ways to consistently improve that experience.

Our UX Design Specialist will need to:
  • Conceptualize, design and refine user experiences and interactions for maximum impact and satisfaction
  • Have a strong understanding of design, technology and strategy
  • Collect client insight and participate in design proposal and presentation
  • Ensure that customer needs are met, that the end product reaches maximum usability, and that quality standards of creative deliverables and projects are upheld from start to finish
  • Leverage our existing interface and design components in your work and understand when a new component or pattern might be needed
  • Understand how user interface interacts with user experience and collaborate with team members to ensure the best possible outcome
  • Have the ability to quickly change project priorities as requested by project managers or company leadership
This position will report to the VP of Business Development and will provide graphic webpage design content to the PM and then the client. What you will likely need to succeed:
  • WCAG knowledge to ensure all projects are ADA compliant
  • Extensive experience with InVision, Sketch, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop required
  • Preferred experience with additional web applications and software such as Slack, Freshdesk, Harvest
  • Good interpersonal and collaborative skills as well as the ability to work independently
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task; to work on several customer issues at one time
  • Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail
  • Good technical proficiency with strong working knowledge of Microsoft products including Word and Excel
  • Basic understanding WordPress content administration preferred
