lowercase productions is an award-winning, San Francisco-based visual communications firm that specializes in branding, information design, websites, print and signage for civic/governmental agencies, the developer/architecture/engineering community and other organizations seeking to improve the urban environment in which we live.

We are seeking to add a new website designer to our contractor team, someone with a great eye who can provide sophisticated design, strong UX and UI skill sets. We are a distributed network, and don't have a physical workplace. As such, you will be expected to work from your work own environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Collaborate with team management and engineering to define and implement innovative solutions for product direction, visual story and overall user experience
• Conceptualize original ideas that bring simplicity and user friendliness to complex design roadblocks
• Design top-quality interactive components and navigation systems
• Execute all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off to engineering
• Specifically, create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps, where necessary, to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas
• Engage in responsible budgeting and scheduling task management
• Present and defend designs and key milestone deliverables to peers and executive level stakeholders
• Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices and standards
• Conduct user research and evaluate user feedback
• Understand and support content strategy activities
• Conduct competitor and customer analysis

REQUIREMENTS
• Excellent visual design skills
• Equally excellent communications skills
• Ability to present your designs and sell your solutions to various stakeholders.
• Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively
• Up-to-date with the latest UI trends, techniques, and technologies
• Demonstrable UI design skills with a strong portfolio
• Solid experience in creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps
• Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch, InDesign and wire-framing tools
• Experience with online webpage collaborative review tools such as InVision
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
• BS/MS in Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, or related would be nice
