We are a modest sized lodging management company located in Seattle Washington and looking for a contract attorney to handle occasionally various matters. We are growing and on our way to becoming much bigger because we have capabilities and technology.
We would prefer you be licensed in the state of Washington to be available for litigation which is rare for us.
Initially the job will be occasional and part-time. We are seeking an affordable hourly rate and probably an escalating increase in work. To begin there maybe only 8 to 12 hours of work per week, but more soon.
The attorney need not have extensive experience in all topics because they many subjects will be infrequent but must have the ability to review, study and make recommendations as to how to proceed on some matters. We might even consider recent law school grads.
The work includes general consultation with company principals, review and drafting of business contracts and forms, website policies, entity formation in various locations, guest collections and disputes, property owner disputes and negotiation, labor law..
There is occasional litigation to enforce our contracts often straight forward but requiring attention, direction and seldom court appearances. You will evaluate risk, and recommend the steps necessary to settle or pursue matters.
You need not be be an expert at franchising but we may franchise our business and you would need to study and recommend how to do that, probably with outside counsel.
The work would also include collaborating without prestigious intellectual property attorney and occasionally with property owner client's attorneys related to guest matters.
You need not work in our offices, and could work from home, as we work remotely with many consultants and providers. But you should but should be located within reasonable driving distance from downtown Seattle.
OPTION: If preferred, we can provide office space to you without charge, on Capital Hill in the trendy Pike Pine neighbor, and you would be free to use that office for other clients as they see fit.
We are located in a trendy funky art-loft type warehouse building on Seattle's Capital hill. Ours is an informal work place, but we do have a private conference room that you could use and all business services such as phones, copier/fax, high speed Internet, and some secretarial help.
