In this practice, the right candidate will gain experience in a broad range of sophisticated corporate and commercial matters and real estate litigation. This is an amazing opportunity for a self-starter who is willing and able to hit the ground running in this very busy and complex legal practice.
The person hired will be involved in creating new legal entities, drafting and amending foundational instruments, and implementing business restructuring plans. In addition, the lawyer will complete complex commercial and residential real estate transactions, including preparation of purchase contracts, easement agreements, purchase options, rights of first offer and first refusal, promissory notes, deed of trusts, deeds, and other closing instruments.
This is an incredible opportunity to work alongside a well-respected Austin lawyer in an exciting practice. The practice frequently includes negotiating and preparing contracts, including partnership agreements, joint venture agreements, franchise agreements, shareholder agreements, subscription agreements, nondisclosure agreements, indemnification agreements, employment agreements, and covenants not to compete. The firm has represented numerous corporations, including homeowners' associations and boards of directors in a variety of complex matters and has extensive experience litigating complex matters, including business, real estate, and commercial disputes.
Get invaluable experience representing plaintiffs and defendants in a broad array of cases involving causes of action such as breach of contract and suits on sworn account, breach of fiduciary duty, enforcement of covenants not to compete, defamation, breach of warranty, claims under the Deceptive Trade Practices Act, breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, insurance companies' failure to defend, negligence, and will contests and other probate disputes. Very few positions can rival this one, which offers such broad opportunities for growth and professional development.

Requirements and Skills
Strong evidence of academic ability.
Law Review member from accredited U.S. law school preferred.
Demonstrated ability to draft and understand complex contract documents and lawsuits.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Self-starter who can take projects and manage them independently on all levels.
Ability to work diligently in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines.
Member of the Texas State Bar in good standing.
Contract basis to start with some ability to work remotely. We expect this to evolve into full-time position for the right candidate.
