AWS Cloud / DevOps Engineer *Remote* *Remote* - systems / networking - operations job employment

Location: Remote (Anywhere in the U.S.A)

• 3+ years of DevOps software development experience
• A deep understanding of the value of continuous delivery and want to help teams release frequently and often to production, with high quality.
• Ability to tackle problems both at the large scale (think hundred-node clusters) and the small scale (think individual atomic locks).
• A drive to continually learn new technologies, tools, and methodologies, including those out of your comfort zone.
• A solid understanding of core computer science fundamentals including common data structures, algorithms, and concurrent programming.
• Experience using at least one scripting language such as Ruby, Python, JavaScript, or similar
• Experience/knowledge in implementing a project configuring Redis Server and Consul using Vagrant or similar.
• Cloud infrastructure deployment - design, operate, and optimize new and existing production environments
• Research new technologies and prototype solutions that can be leveraged to decrease costs, and increase performance
• Utilize common AWS technologies like VPC, Elastic Load Balancing, Application Load Balancing, and regionally distributed EC2 instances
• Maintain and monitor a large cloud service
• Participate in on-call rotation, respond to after-hours requests and/or issues (1 week every 5 weeks)

Better if you have:
• MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
• Prior experience solving automation problems such as deployment orchestration, continuous integration, etc.
• Past experience with Chef, Puppet, Ansible, or similar
• Familiarity working with Amazon AWS or similar cloud provider.
• Introductory working knowledge of Docker and container management systems like Kubernetes and Open Shift
• Experience in setting up continuous integration/continuous delivery pipelines
• Background working on publicly available, production systems
• AWS (Amazon Web Services) Stack - EC2, VPC
• Networking (VPC Gateway, Route53, ELB/ALB)
• Cloud Formation
• Cloud Watch
• Solid networking knowledge
