The Training and Video Specialist will join the Documentation Team responsible for online help, training, tutorials, and other user documentation for our flagship product. The Specialist will maintain and expand our existing online training course and video content. Instructional design, teaching, or other experience breaking down complex information is a prerequisite for success in this role. Documentation Team members act internally as customer advocates, voicing their perspective regarding product features, usability, and training needs.
This is a new role with potential for growth and taking our training in new directions. The right candidate can have a tremendous impact on the success of our customers, partners, and employees.
Â· Create, maintain, and administer online training course materials including slides, hands-on activities, and quizzes.
Â· Create video walk-throughs and tutorials for training and the online help.
Â· Manage training enrollment. Create metrics and reports on training user demographics to measure the training program's effectiveness and reach.
Â· Answer questions and assist internal and external stakeholders throughout the training process.
Â· Edit documents for accuracy and style.
Â· Ensure all publication standards are met by following established procedures.
Â· Effectively manage your time across several projects and tasks.
Â· 4-year college degree and at least two years of full time work experience. Outstanding attention to detail, especially with regard to grammar and formatting.
Â· Minimum 1 year of work experience in technical writing, software, teaching, or related role.
Â· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Â· Experience with screen-capture software and video production, e.g. Camtasia, GoAnimate, Final Cut Pro.
Â· Must be able to write for a diverse user base with varying levels of technical experience.
Â· Intelligence, creativity, familiarity with web-based technologies, and the ability to rapidly learn a complex and wide-ranging program.
Â· Familiarity with HTML, CSS, XML, or markup.
Â· Experience with business software, databases, and/or web-based software.
Â· Demonstrated initiative in seeking ways to contribute to the success of the company that go beyond a narrow definition of job responsibilities.
