Position: Instructional Designer

Contractor Role

Job Purpose:

We are looking for an enthusiastic professional to develop, create, and upgrade learning content for financial securities exam-preparation courses. This candidate will use their instructional design knowledge to create high-quality, effective, and engaging webinar and on-demand learning content using research-based and industry-leading adult learning techniques.

Responsibilities:

Works proactively with Media Manager and Subject Matter Experts (SME) to develop and create courseware, with an initial focus on webinar development.
Graphically designing learning content and supporting materials for training courses.
Reviews, evaluates, and modifies existing education modules.
Collaborating with the internal team and actively participating in project briefings.
Tracking, monitoring and providing updates for all assigned projects.
Developing evaluation/assessment metrics and feedback mechanisms to measure training effectiveness of various learning platforms and implement continuous improvements.


Requirements / Qualifications

Knowledge and Skills:

5+ years' experience developing and managing e-learning content
2+ years of experience with Learning Management Systems, Webinar Software (WebEx preferred), and MS PowerPoint.
Background in finance and/or investment banking or in developing content for those industries (preferred).
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to design assessments to support defined learning objectives.
Strong project management and prioritization skills.
Knowledge of educational models and theories, including instructional design (ADDIE) and adult learning theory.
Ability to communicate with company employees, subject matter experts (SME), and consultants by phone, in person, or through correspondence.
Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to perform duties with minimal direction and/or supervision.


Education and Work Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Educational Technology, or related field is preferred. Minimum of 2+ years' experience using course development software and a Learning Management System.
Proven work experience in instructional design. Visual design skills and experience using (Photoshop and Illustrator) and ability to story board is required. Must be proficient with Adobe Suite (Photoshop and Illustrator) and Articulate Studio.
Minimum two years' experience developing digital learning content in a professional environment.


Working conditions

This is an independent contractor position. This position will work remotely and will need to have a reliable laptop/desktop computer, Adobe Suite (Photoshop and Illustrator) and phone.
