A legal tech startup in Arlington, VA is looking to hire attorneys (ideally 2) who have experience with contract negotiation and who are interested in part-time work starting in the spring/summer of 2018. The ideal candidates may be parents who stopped working to stay at home with their kids and now as their children are in pre/elementary school want to transition back to work on a less than full-time basis. Most of the work (15-20 hrs. per week) can be performed remotely, but occasional in-person meetings with the rest of the team will be necessary. The work will include a variety of contract review and negotiation activities as well as the annotation of contract text. The position will interact with a team that includes computational linguists, linguists, machine learning and AI researchers, as well as product designers. Although certainly not necessary, any attorneys who also have a computer science or a linguistics background are ideal. The company is backed by the Federal Government through a grant from the National Science Foundation that requires the company to identify potential employees performing under the grant several months in advance - hence the reason for posting this job now.
