Small high end residential/commercial interior design company located on Manhattan UWS is seeking a qualified applicant for the position of Interior design assistant. This position requires AutoCad proficency, 1 - 3 year experience, and the ability to coordinate projects with minimal oversight. The position includes a full range of duties including but not limited to project administration, preparation of presentations, proposals, budgets, specification schedules, communicating with Vendors and Clients.

Position will require 15-25 hours per week. Ability to work from home in part, but must be available to meet once a week and be accessible by phone/email. Salary commensurate with experience and abilities, some flexibility on start date. Primary hours of work are within normal business hours, Monday through Friday. At times, evening and weekend availability may be required. Long term position available if candidate is the right fit.

Responsibilities:
• Assist in projects from initial concept to installation
• Place requests for CFA's, quotes, and invoices
• Place and track orders and update budget spreadsheets
• Coordinate time lines, order deliveries, and participate during installations
• Help prepare for presentations, including material finishes, color selection, sourcing of furniture/furnishing items
• Furniture, fixtures, finishes and materials research
• Fabric sorting & return to showrooms/vendors
• Accept and inspect deliveries
• Office Administration & organization
• Attend client meetings

Skills/Requirements:
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in interior design
• Must be highly resourceful, organized, detailed oriented, & self-motivated
• Has excellent verbal and written communication skills, super organized
• Polished appearance and phone manner
• Has excellent problem-solving skills, and can think on his/her feet
• Must be able to work quickly and efficiently under very tight deadlines
• Can skillfully juggle multiple projects at once
• Not required but added bonus if you have experience with construction: drafting & reading drawings & understanding job sites
• Must be proficient at Microsoft Office & Adobe Photoshop. Vector Works, and Sketch up is an added bonus
•Ability to interact on a professional level with high-profile clients
