We are searching for a local area, creative artist capable of creating vectored artwork for lapel pins and embroidered patches. The artwork is used to provide a proof for our customer and a final vectored file for our factory. Degree of difficulty ranges from simple conversions of customer's digital artwork to pin and/or patch ready formats to translating rudimentary hand sketches to final illustrations. The successful candidate will possess an understanding of the lapel pin process which requires metal lines (borders) between each color, recessed and raised metal lettering, legible font sizes for small final products, a familiarity with PMS colors, etc. Candidates that are creative and fast will get first priority in the selection process.
This is a contract, work from your home position and you will be responsible for your tax obligations and receive a 1099 form. You will use your computer and software and, if selected, will be required to participate in an initial 1 - 2 hour training session in our office in Woodinville, WA.

Prospective applicants should have a comfortable working knowledge of the following:

• Illustrator and/or Corel Draw
• Ability to provide vectored files on request
• Relatively fast turnaround once artwork requests are submitted to you
• You should be able to use Illustrator / Corel Draw to vector existing files as well as "illustrate" customer hand drawn sketches or text descriptions into functional lapel pin artwork.

Please have a more than intermediate skill level in digital graphic design

$ 20 / hr. to start with opportunity for increases as we assess your proficiency, progress and ability to grasp the subtleties of pin design issues.

If you feel you may be compatible with this opportunity, convert the attached image to lapel pin format and email a jpeg and vectored PDF file of your design along with your resume. Include the amount of time you spent on the art. Use your judgement on the colors and be creative (metal can be gold, silver or black). Please reply on or before Nov. 13th.

NOTE: Only submissions with the attached test assignment image completed will be considered. This is only a test from an old customer sketch and will not be used to produce final products.
