Staff Accountant Description

Full Charge Bookkeeper Duties/Responsibilities:

Daily postings to the general ledger through QuickBooks.
Monthly bank, credit card, and paypal reconciliations.
Prepare bi-weekly payroll using QuickBooks.
Reconciles customer payments to invoices and performs collections activities on delinquent accounts, makes weekly bank deposits.
Performs full cycle accounts payable including: invoice posting into QuickBooks, obtaining proper authorization if needed, performing weekly check-runs and wire payments, reconciliation of purchase orders, invoices, and warehouse reports, etc.
Prepares numerous monthly/quarterly reports including: sales commission statements for outside sales reps, quarterly licensing reports for royalty payments, monthly sales reports by channel, region, customer, product, etc, expense analysis reports.
Prepares and sets monthly, quarterly, and yearly budgets using cash flow/sales projections. Investigates any spending/sales variances.
Performs basic HR functions such as: tracking PTO and managing health insurance with broker
Prepares and files multi state sales tax returns.
Works with outside CPA firm for closings and financial statement preparation.
Required Skills/Experience:
MUST have experience with budgeting, Cash Flow Management (Very Important), and forecasting.
At least 2 years of solid QuickBooks experience
Solid excel skills, must be able to create, extract, and manipulate reports
Must have superb time management, multi-tasking abilities
Experience with financial statements, journal entries, bookkeeping.


Additional Skills/Experience:

Preference given for SQL Skills (not a must) - basic proficiency with SQL queries and working with databases.
Familiarity with Quickbooks Manufacturing a plus!

4 business checking accounts
125-250 sales invoices and customer payments (Accounts receivable managed by separate part-time staff member)
15-20 sales receipts
25-50 payables and bill payments
2 company credit cards for purchases
25-50 credit card transactions
Bi-Weekly payroll - 7 employees
Sales & Use Return - 2 states
1 loan - line of credit
