DESCRIPTION:

We will fly you as part of a team to installs throughout the US for 1 week+ on a day rate + per diem

We are actively recruiting a dynamic, highly experienced Network Engineer who combines exceptional technical knowledge with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact positively with customers. This position requires experience with Network (wireless and wired) and preferably some exposure to Voice products as well (hosted and on premises). The position reports cross functionally to the Director of Network Technology and the Installation Manager. OUR COMPANY will provide cross training for a candidate with strong network only experience and demonstrated ability to learn new technologies.
Main Duties:
• Must possess a thorough understanding of Network Infrastructure and topology, LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and Network Monitoring tools.
• Current Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or HP ASE in Routing and Switching and/or Wireless Networking recommended
• The ability to quickly and thoroughly diagnose and resolve issues within the Enterprise/Hospitality network.
• Strong knowledge of routing and switching concepts and technologies (OSPF, BGP, PIM, EIGRP)
• An understanding of network management, network security, SNMP and Radius
Experience working collaboratively with Senior Network Engineers, Systems software developers and Administrators.
• Working experience with firewalls, load balancers, and web proxies
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex issues related to hardware, L3/L2 deployment, application behaviors and TCP stack
Required/Desired Skills and Abilites:
• Ability to perform all of the above duties.
• 3+ years of experience with network deployments in an enterprise or Hospitality service provider setting.
• Expert experience with low-level networking constructs such routing protocols or network overlay implementations
• 3+ years of engineering, design, implementation, and/or support of highly distributed network solutions (i.e. having an architectural sense for ensuring availability, reliability, etc.)
• Knowledge of 802.11 Wireless technology including the deployment of WAPS with wireless controllers and use of Air magnet or Ekahau for heat mapping and RF tuning
Strong technical competence and aptitude.
Strong ability to relay complex information in an easily understood manner to non-technical customers.
• Cisco CCNA, CCDA or comparable technology certifications are a plus
• Knowledge of VLAN configuration and the ability to support.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Ability to assume responsibility and ownership for work performed.
• Ability to provide technical support for co-workers, customers, and other vendors.
• Proficiency with MS Windows/Office and/or some version of Linux/Unix
• Knowledge of Ruckus, HP, Nomadix, Fortinet, Broadsoft, NEC, or Mitel is beneficial.
• Ability to accommodate 5% national travel (reimbursed by company).
• BA/BS in EE or CS a plus.
• Experience in hospitality a plus.
